October 17, 2008: Casey Anthony Pleads Not Guilty As Search Teams Plan Return

Oct.17 - ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) --Casey Anthony will be making two court appearances within a week of each other. She will return to court for her arraignment on her First degree murdercharge and then again a few days later for a pre-trial hearing in the check fraud case.

On Tuesday October 28, 2008 at 8:45 a.m. Anthony will appear before Circuit Judge Stan Strickland for arraignment in the First Degree Murder Case.

Oct.17 -"I know Caylee is alive," Cindy Anthony said on MSNBC's Today show.

"I know my daughter. There is nothing in this world that could make me believe that Casey did anything to Caylee. There has never been any child neglect, child abuse or anything. This young lady loves her child, more than I love Casey."
Cindy Anthony maintains her daughter is telling the truth and says her granddaughter has been spotted at Orlando airport with people and also in Georgia since her disappearance.

"I believe Caylee is with someone that Casey had trusted. And I believe that Casey has been, you know, betrayed. It's unfortunate that it's going to take the average citizen to bring Caylee back home to me alive, and not the authorities," said Cindy Anthony. George Anthony, the grandfather of missing toddler Caylee Anthony, spoke exclusively with News 13 Thursday about the family's latest efforts to find his granddaughter. Anthony added they are disturbed by the fact the Sheriff's Office shut down the tip line in mid-august. "We've been getting info out about Puerto Rico, because we believe that's where she is, but the info I've gotten over the last three months is that my granddaughter has been to nine different locations,"

Oct.14 - ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Casey Anthony was back in the Orange County Jail Tuesday night after a Grand Jury handed down a murder indictment earlier in the day.

Anthony, the mother of 3-year-old Caylee Anthony who has been missing since June, was indicted on seven charges including First Degree Murder, Aggravated Child Abuse and Manslaughter of a Child. The other four charges have to do with Anthony
‘knowingly and willingly’ misleading investigators.

Oct. 08 – According to a source close to the investigation, prosecutors now have enough forensic evidence to ask a grand jury to indict Anthony for her daughter's murder. That evidence allegedly proves that Caylee's body was in the trunk of the car Casey Anthony was driving and at one point in the backyard of the Anthony family home.

Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, voluntarily provided investigators with DNA samples, which are currently being compared to hairs found in the trunk of the car. Anthony's brother, Lee Anthony, initially refused to provide investigators with a sample; however he later submitted to that request when investigators served him with a search warrant.

Investigators are convinced that Caylee was murdered on or about June 17. Cell phone records show that from June 16 to June 18, Anthony mostly went about her normal routine - traveling to and from her parents and boyfriend's house - however, pings have also placed her near Blanchard Park and the Econ Trail, an isolated area south of Lake Underhill. Both those areas were searched by David Lohr and Texas EquuSearch; however given the high waters and thick underbrush it is possible that evidence could have gone overlooked.

Sept. 23 – The Orange Osceola State Attorney's Office is releasing 591 pages of discovery evidence in the Casey Anthony case today.  Still no sign of Caylee

September 7 – George Anthony, father of Casey Anthony and grandfather of missing three-year-old Caylee Anthony, lost it when a group of protesters showed up at his home.

September 3 – Roughly 50,000 people will visit Walt Disney World today. And yet, only 12 people showed up this morning to search for missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony. According to Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, the community is not helping in the search because they do not believe Caylee is dead.

In related news, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla made headlines again today for comments he made on CNN last night, suggesting that something big is going to happen in the case.

"When the FBI, who has got some of the finest labs in the world, comes back, it is going to shock the world over something Lee, Casey and Cindy have known since Wednesday when they released their preliminary findings," Padilla said. "And also, the Dumpster located a mile and quarter away from the boyfriend Tony's home is going to play a big part in this."

Also today, the Orange County Sheriff's Office has filed six additional charges against Casey Anthony. According to a department spokesperson, Anthony has been charged with two counts each of fraudulent use of personal identification, uttering a forged check and petty theft.

August 5: - Investigators Find Caylee Anthony's DNA. According to a spokesperson from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, investigators have found Caylee Anthony's DNA; however they will not confirm if it was discovered in the trunk of the car that was used by the missing toddler's mom, Casey Anthony.
"When it is appropriate, we will do what is necessary to further this case. We will not discuss results individually regarding any item that is returned to us," Orange County Sheriff's Office Capt. Angelo Nieves said.
Despite this breaking news, Nieves does not believe Caylee will be found without assistance from her mother.
"What we need to do is receive information from Casey that is nothing but the truth," Nieves said.

August 5: – Casey is formally charged with a felony count of child neglect and another misdemeanor offense.

August 4: – WFTV.com reports that prosecutors have offered Casey Anthony immunity, in exchange for information about her daughter; however State Attorney's Office spokesman Randy Means tells WESH.com that no such deal is in the works.
